Preschool Program

        At Owl Always Daycare, we understand the importance of play in the development of our preschooler's (ages 3-5) young minds. As their development continues to grow across all learning domains, our preschool program is structured to support a diverse group of young learners. We are here to embrace each child's learning style and individuality. Our curriculum is designed to offer each child a unique opportunity to learn, develop, and be challenged in a way that encourages exploration, discovery, and the pursuit of wonder. We also integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into our learning activities. STEAM encourages active, hands-on learning experiences that support building and understanding vocabulary, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and reflective questioning. 

        Furthermore, we practice “Conscious Discipline” in the classroom. This social-emotional learning program teaches children self-control, composure, empathy for their peers, assertiveness, self-motivation, and goal setting. Our Education Coordinator has been trained to properly introduce these techniques and has had prior experience implementing them as a lead teacher of a Pre-K classroom.

     We understand that every child acquires developmental skills at their own pace, which is why we provide a nurturing and supportive environment for them to thrive. In addition to traditional recess time, children will also spend time outdoors during nontraditional times of day. They will explore the world around them through nature, by discovering and playing with natural and open-ended materials found outdoors. Children will be encouraged to bring these materials indoors and incorporate them into their learning centers for daily use, to heighten their curiosity and excitement for learning and exploration.

       Overall, our preschool program at Owl Always Daycare is designed to provide children with a fun and stimulating learning environment where they can develop their fine/gross motor skills, language, and cognitive abilities while exploring the world around them.
